Edison Kids Website, USA
About Edison International: Edison International generates and distributes power in Southern California and owns energy assets worldwide.
Project: In 1999, Edison engaged internet agency, Full Moon Interactive to help them teach kids about electricity, environmental issues surrounding power generation and electrical safety.
Solution: Creation of kids interactive website called the Power Lab with three characters introducing different areas:
- Professor Kilowatt: trivia, quizzes, energy inventors
- Sunny Lee: electric cars, smog, Edison-sponsored attractions
- Eddie Luz: safety issues, safety game, links
The site also included a Teachers Lounge where teachers could download lesson plans and energy educational resources.
Outcome: The website lasted three years and received more than half a million unique visitors.
My role: As Senior Content Specialist, I devised concept, characters and architecture; wrote and edited content; art directed graphics and page creation.
